Stray Dog Finds a Friend and a Home After Following a Stranger

In St. Louis, Missouri, a man encountered a stray dog at his bus stop one day. After exchanging a friendly greeting with the pup, the man began walking towards his house, unaware that he was being followed. As he reached his yard, he noticed the dog right behind him the whole time.

Recognizing the dog’s need for help, the man brought him into his backyard to ensure his safety and contacted Stray Rescue of St. Louis (SRSL).

Donna Lochmann and Natalie from SRSL promptly arrived at the man’s home, expecting a fearful and wary dog. However, they were pleasantly surprised to find a friendly and cooperative pup. Without hesitation, the dog allowed them to approach and leashed up easily.

They named the dog Orville and took him to the shelter in their Jeep. During the ride, Orville displayed his joy with a wide smile and rode comfortably near his rescuers.

Upon arriving at the shelter, Orville’s tail wagged with excitement. He greeted the veterinary team with affection, climbing into Molly’s lap, showing his gratitude for their care and attention.

The dedicated team at SRSL tended to Orville’s wounds, provided nourishing meals, and settled him into his new kennel. Although Orville’s past remains a mystery, it is evident that he has found the safe haven he desperately needed.

From the beginning, Orville exhibited his loving and appreciative nature, impressing everyone he met. His resilience and spirit remained intact despite his challenging journey.
