Anyone who has been through a natural disaster knows how difficult it is to rebuild a home, beyond material losses, safeguarding our lives and that of our loved ones is the most important thing, writes fancy4work
So when the emergency team came pounding on Carol’s door at 2 a.m., she feared not only for her life but for the lives of her pets .
Carol lived near an active volcano in Puna, Hawaii.
The emergency alarm indicated that the floor had opened up and was spewing lava and dangerous sulfur dioxide gas. Carol, 70, had no choice but to evacuate .
Unfortunately, when the fire crew burst through the door they startled one of Carol’s puppies, who ran out and the other puppies followed .
Brus and Little Dude is the name of the furry ones.
When Carol adopted Brus, she knew that he was a nervous puppy that had a hard time interacting with men, perhaps in his past he was the victim of a man without feelings.
The declared emergency situation did not allow the firefighters to let Carol go in search of her beloved pets . Dark and endangered, the puppies were about to face the worst days of their lives.
Brus was adopted at Aloha Ilio Rescue.
Fortunately, Aloha Ilio Rescue President Daylynn Kyles heard about Brus’ situation and was determined to help him and his little brother . She knew that the puppies were very important to the 70-year-old woman and she organized an entire rescue team.
After the emergency passed, many volunteers came together to search every crack and throughout the neighborhood for the pair of furry ones .
After a week of tirelessly searching, rescuers thought the worst.
Kyles and all the staff had searched for Bruss and Little Dude for days, on the tenth day when Kyles decided to return to the neighborhood, he heard something that caught his attention . As he approached the place he noticed the scared puppies begging for help.
“They were trapped behind a fence and couldn’t get out because of the lava surrounding them. It was crazy. We knew this dog was probably terrified.”
Using a machete, Kyles and two friends waded through the jungle to make their way to the vulnerable puppies, who were scared and dehydrated and covered in fire ant bites .
Fortunately, the end of these puppies is happy thanks to a woman and her rescue team who did not give up.
Carol and her friends were overjoyed to find them.
For now the puppies will stay at the shelter while Carol finds a home . Despite Carol’s difficult situation, knowing that her puppies are well and happy gives her a great ray of hope.
Be sure to share this note on your networks and let’s make the rescue of two puppies that had a magical happy ending go viral.
